Interviews at SAP at that time were handled as behavioral interviews, which I had mastered. The idea behind a behavioral interview is to let the interviewer know as much about how you handle difficult situations, as about what or how much you know. Interviewers need to know that you are trustworthy, so best to tell them about how trustworthy you are by describing a difficult situation where you either failed and learned from your failure, or you succeeded and how you will use that technique for success in the position you are looking to step into.
