The job posting and the recruiter highlighted skills that were considered a must, but during the interview process these skills turned out to not be relevant to the position at all. Other skills were of higher priority which put me in the unfavourable position of not being qualified enough for the role. The first two technical interviews were on-point, smooth and two-sided. The last technical interview was one-sided with the interviewers being polite and respectful, but were unapproachable and showing too much superiority. No time was given to me to ask questions. The interviewers’ questions lacked attempt to understand skills and experience and instead focused on weaknesses.

The interview process typically includes an initial screening call, followed by a portfolio review to discuss past work and design thinking. The final stage consists of multiple 1:1 interviews and a collaborative whiteboard or problem-solving exercise.
