The best Griller in the world? Only one can take the crown 👑 Our most fired-up Grillers from around the world recently took over Edinburgh for our International Grillers’ Challenge 🔥 bringing the heat from the UK & Ireland were Jordan (Stockport restaurant), Benjamin (Camberwell) and Connor (Metrocentre Qube) but there could be only one winner…congrats to Andrea from Nando’s Canada who brought her energy and passion to officially take the title of the International Grillers’ Challenge 2025 winner 🏆 Have a watch to see how the competition went down here.
Want to level up your lunch? We’ve got you… Our new menu items are bringing the heat 🔥 Sweet Heat baste on our PERi-Mac Wrap with Hearty Grains, or one of our new lunch bowls are here to fire up your lunchtime. We asked a PERi pro to give it a try too. Edgar from our Thanet restaurant popped down to Dover as a (not so) mystery guest to give his verdict 👇
Indaba - a gathering of leaders and what we call our annual conference. This year, we went to the beautiful city of Lisbon where we reconnected with our purpose and came back fired up and burning brighter than ever 🔥 Over to Bethany, a Manager in our Metrocentre Qube restaurant for a sneak peek of the trip (spoiler: she won an award there. What a legend) 👇
Freshers, we see you... During September, across the UK & Ireland we were hitting up freshers’ fairs to spread the PERi love. It was safe to say…the energy was Extra Hot with freebies flying, and a whole lot of chicken chat. Check out the video by Aoife from our Glasgow Fort restaurant who went to Glasgow freshers to catch the action, which looks almost as good as a Fino Pitta after a 9am lecture. And hey, if you’re a student looking for a job that actually fits around your studies (with free Nando’s on shift…just saying), we’ve got a seat at our table.
It’s Hospitality Apprenticeship Week 🎓 we’re all about helping our Nandocas build the confidence to get the career they want, and our apprenticeships are the perfect blend of learning and earning to help them achieve their goals. We spoke to one of our superstar apprentices, Evonne from our Redditch restaurant, who recently completed the Hospitality Management Level 4 apprenticeship 👏: “I was given an opportunity to do an apprenticeship which I was excited to do, but also very anxious due to being dyslexic and never being great academically. I knew it would be a challenge for myself, but with support from Nando’s, I enrolled. From the apprenticeship programme I’ve not only found my voice - I now know what type of leader I am which is transformational. The apprenticeship has literally changed my life!”
Creating a terrarium, making candles, tasting honey and (of course) having PERi-PERi for breakfast…it wasn’t just your average learning week for our Central Support teams. Imfundo, the Zulu word for education, was celebrated recently in our Imfundo Week which was packed with learning activities hosted by our fabulous L&D Team. As Patsy from our People Team said, “It felt like a ‘pinch me’ moment, I feel so lucky to be part of a company that encourages growth in such a unique way. It’s a special place to be.”
We believe that Everyone is Welcome at Nando’s (obvs!), and we're wrapping up National Inclusion Week by catching up with Annie (pictured alongside Thoko, our Inclusion and Internal Brand Pillars Manager) who’s been part of our Inclusion & Diversity team for five years, to hear about the incredible work she's been a part of: “I’m passionate about Inclusion & Diversity, it’s incredibly rewarding. Something I’m most proud of has been improving our parental experience, by adding a little Nando’s magic through our parental gift packs. They aim to support new parents with guides and tips, and also contain clothing made in South Africa with each pack supporting the Door of Hope Foundation for abandoned babies. For me, this project highlights how we are a global family, and truly are a welcoming home for all people. “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved in the inclusion space. At a time when some companies are pulling back from Inclusion & Diversity activities, I’m proud to work for a company that continues to celebrate our differences and is striving forwards.” Find out more about Door of Hope here >> https://doorofhope.co.za/
Calling all freshers 📣 This month we're hitting the road all over the UK & Ireland to bring the heat to a freshers' fayre near you 🥳 swing by our stand for a chat, and maybe a PERi-PERi prize or two… Want to know where we’re heading to next? At Nando’s, Everyone is Welcome. And with this week being National Inclusion Week, we’re fired up and shouting about the amazing Nandocas who make that happen every day. One of them is Olivia (pictured here alongside her Manager, Lauren), who joined our Yate restaurant last year through WorkFit – a brilliant programme that helps people with barriers to work get into meaningful jobs. Since then, she’s been smashing it in her role in restaurants and even headed to London to take part in a Nando’s photoshoot. She's now progressed into a Buddy Trainer role, inspiring other Nandocas in her team to be as fabulous as she is. Here's what Olivia had to say: “Since I started at Nando’s last year, I’ve grown confidence in my role by using my food service skills and had such a great time being part of the photography shoot, I loved being there and meeting other Nandocas. I’d like to say a big thank you to all the team at Yate to help me settle into my job role, I love working with this team!” Find out more about the amazing work WorkFit do here >> https://www.downs-syndrome.org.uk/our-work/services-projects/workfit/
We’ve been cooking 🔥 Last month we collaborated with Nando's USA and popped up in Texas to serve PERi-PERi 24/7 for some of the world’s biggest streamers - Kai Cenat and the AMP crew. We also built an exact replica of our unique restaurant experience inside NBA Hall-of-Famer Tony Parker’s mansion which included our signature sauce station, Southern African artwork and, of course, an open-flame grill. Fans across the globe went wild when the restaurant was revealed live on stream. Nandocas from the UK and across the US all got involved, and Chloe from our UK Ops Team told us about her time running the first of its kind restaurant: “It was an unforgettable experience! We created a fully functioning restaurant inside a mansion – you could say it was a bit like running a regular Nando’s, but with daily live streams, golf buggies and giant furniture in the mix too! I met and worked with Nandocas from all over the US, and it was so fun seeing the buzz and hype from millions tuning in to watch online throughout the project.”
