“I joined in 2011 as a Griller in our Leeds White Rose restaurant. I was pretty much non-verbal with people who were new or unfamiliar and had difficulty with social interaction but my Patrão (General Manager) who interviewed me looked through to my potential and hired me! The next 6 years I worked in 5 different restaurants. The times I’ve flourished is where my Patrão has educated themselves and used me to educate them on how to get the best out of me as a neurodiverse Manager. I’ve developed from someone who was very introverted to a leader of 45+ Nandocas (Team Members) with a wealth of experience that I now pass on to the next generation of Nandocas, Buddies, Supervisors and Managers.
