Grillers’ Challenge 2024 is well under way in our restaurants 🔥 Grillers’ Challenge is our annual competition where we put the heroes of our restaurants, our Grillers, through their paces to flex their skills on the grills to see who can prepare the finest PERi chicken. The top three across the UK & Ireland win a once in a lifetime trip, and entry to our global competition to see who’s the world’s top Griller. Amy from our Food Development Team joined us as a Griller in our Leamington Spa restaurant and took the crown back in 2015 👑 but there's a former Nandoca coming for her title… Who was the true champ? Amy and Big Zuu went head-to-head to settle the score 👊
It’s time to turn up the heat with Heatwave Radio 🔥 We've launched our very own radio station! Every morning, our restaurant teams tune into hear Georgia (from our Manchester Piccadilly restaurant) and Eze (from our Huddersfield restaurant), our amazing hosts. Recorded in our very own Soho Studio (yeah, we have our own music studio), Georgia and Eze share the latest news and stories from across our business, playing the latest tracks too.
Hot new menu 🔥 And this one’s Fully Loaded… Head to your local to give it a try - like our new Fully Loaded Wrap, Caesar Salad and Bottomless Soft Serve. Our new guest spice is Wild…Herb and PERi-Chicken Gravy’s back. For good.
On 20th April we pulled up to the Are You Mad x The Northface Clean Up The Ting Earth Day event in East London. We fuelled 130 volunteers with PERi-PERi as they cleaned up Barking nature reserve and the surrounding area. Volunteers of all ages from the local community and beyond collected waste that was then repurposed into new items by the Are You Mad studio.
We’ve done it again 🙌 for the second year running, we’ve won the Best Employer Award at the Casual Dining Awards 🏆 Thank you so much to all of our Nandocas for their incredibly hard work over the last year 💪
Today is World Malaria Day, a day to raise awareness of the global effort to eradicate malaria. We’ve been actively fighting Malaria since 2017 through various fundraising efforts for our Nando’s Fighting Malaria programme. One of which being when recently our very own Nando’s band, The 1987, made an epic return to the stage 💃 belting out plenty of classic hits, all ticket and merch sale proceeds went to Nando’s Fighting Malaria which will protect over a thousand lives for the next year. Along with every portion of our Sweet Potato Wedges and our limited edition sauce packs contributing to Nando’s Fighting Malaria, you can find out more about our fundraising and prevention efforts here >> https://www.nandos.co.uk/explore/fightingmalaria
We celebrated International Women’s Month with Girls Don't Sync, the female DJ group taking the world by storm. Girls Don’t Sync invited 35 inspiring and impactful women from their network (including their old school teachers and mums ❤) for an evening of female celebration, music and PERi-PERi. The night was captured by photographer Ayshe Zaifoglu 📸 and powered with vibes from Matty Chiabi, Gaia Ahuja, Sophia Violet & Hannah Lynch. 🌶💖
Meet Will. In the picturesque city of Bath, Mr. Smart (yes, that’s his actual name) at 22 has progressed to become one of our youngest Patraos (General Managers). What’s your secret, Will? "I’ve always enjoyed my job and wanted to get the most out of it. I’ve worked at Nando’s for over five years, joining as a Team Member and now recently promoted to Patrao running my own restaurant. Completing the management apprenticeship most certainly helped me on this journey - it provided opportunities to develop my leadership skills, meet new people and build confidence to keep pushing forward. With commitment and passion, anyone can go for it!” What’s next for Will? He’s now set his sights on becoming an Area Manager, showcasing how our internal apprenticeship programmes can help all of our teams be the best version of themselves and achieve their career goals 🎓
Welcome to our newest restaurant in Edinburgh…Nando’s Craigleith 😍 Passionately led by Bogdan, the Patrao (General Manager) of the restaurant with over 10 years of Nando’s experience under his belt, Bogdan and the team will be serving the finest PERi-PERi, and in true Scottish style, of course there’s plenty of Irn-Bru. Our new Craigleith restaurant is also partnering with local charity Fresh Start as part of our No Chuckin' Our Chicken initiative. Fresh Start help people impacted by homelessness in Edinburgh by providing services such as starter packs and one-to-one advice. The Craigleith team will be donating chicken and produce to help facilitate their cooking lessons too.
An Extra Hot shout-out to Genevieve who’s been featured in the Women to Watch Index by WiHTL - Diversity in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure 🔥 All about celebrating women leaders and their impact across hospitality, travel, leisure and retail, we caught up with Gen about the feature: “It’s a massive achievement and I’m really proud – I started out as an Assistant Manager in our Covent Garden restaurant in 2007. Fast forward to now, I’m a Regional Director supporting 76 restaurants and 2000+ Nandocas in my area. I’ve had the joy of growing at Nando’s and want my teams to experience the same. We want most of our restaurant leadership to come from within so I’d love to inspire Nandocas and Managers to take advantage of all the ways you can grow at Nando’s. What’s next for me? I’m ready to push on and do even more this year.” Find out more about the Women to Watch Index here >> https://lnkd.in/dBbNfy8D
