Back in July, Jordan from our Stockport restaurant fired things up by being crowned our UK & Ireland Grillers’ Challenge champion at our Birmingham New Street restaurant 👑 We caught up with him back on his home turf to hear more about his Nando’s journey, passion for grilling, and what it means to take the top spot. Next stop? The International Grillers’ Challenge, where Jordan will be representing the UK & Ireland against the best Grillers from across the globe 🌍

Results day didn’t go quite to plan? No stress, just look at Chisola Chitambala. Chisola's an ex-Nandoca who wowed Lord Sugar and made it all the way to the final five in the last series of The Apprentice. Since leaving Nando's her career has been hotter than ever. So, she joined us on our very own Heatwave Radio to share how her time at Nando's gave her the skills, confidence, and that extra spice to take on the world… "My results day didn’t go to plan, but it was just the start of a bigger story. Life has many routes, and sometimes the unexpected ones bring the most rewarding destinations. Spicy and proud 🌶️ Our Nandocas have been turning up the heat at Pride parades across the UK & Ireland 🌈 we recently headed to London to see our Nandocas in Soho to show the true Nando's spirit at the iconic parade, and also our Pride celebrations in our London office.
From firing up the grills to dropping the hottest tracks 🔥 Meet Georgia, Assistant Manager in our Euston restaurant and also co-host of Heatwave radio - our very own radio station presented by Nandocas, for Nandocas. 166-mile bike ride ✅ Rock concert ✅ Saving lives ✅ Last week, our Nandocas took to the saddle for a 166-mile ride (we aimed for 67 miles but got a bit carried away) while our very own Nando’s band, The 1987, took to the stage to raise money for Nando’s Fighting Malaria. Thanks to everyone’s incredible efforts, we've helped save over 3000 lives in Southern Africa for the next year. We caught up with Nadege in our Reward Team after the fired-up day: “Taking part in the cycle and attending The 1987 gig reminded me of the power of collective effort and the joy of coming together for a greater purpose. It was a day filled with purpose, energy, and inspiration. Overall, both events were a massive success and full of energy, laughter and happy faces. “Working in Nando’s for over 3 years now I can say I am very proud of what we do and how dedicated we are to helping everyone we can, in the best way we can. Doing these activities just showed how the value of Family is at the centre, and I really love and appreciate that.”
Our Grillers’ Challenge champion for 2025 has been crowned 👑 After the fiery regional competitions, our Grillers’ Challenge final for UK & Ireland took place at our Birmingham New Street restaurant. The finest PERi-PERi chicken was prepared and plated for our lucky judges to try, but there could be only one winner…take a bow Jordan from our Stockport restaurant, our Grillers’ Challenge UK & Ireland champion for 2025 🔥 Jordan and our fantastic runners up (Benjamin from Camberwell and Connor from Metrocentre Qube) will be representing the UK & Ireland at our International Grillers’ Challenge in Edinburgh in September 🙌 best of luck to all 3…bring it home!
This week is Youth Employment Week, and we're privileged to work with dedicated employment partners across the UK & Ireland, fuelling futures and firing up career opportunities for young people 🔥 one of which is Gurleen from our Ealing Common restaurant, who told us more: “I was 21 when I joined Nando’s as a Team Member through the Spear Programme less than a year ago. It was my first job so I was quite nervous, but since then I’ve learned and progressed to become a Supervisor, and I’m also now on an internal progression programme to become an Assistant Manager! “At Nando's you’re given chances you wouldn't normally receive elsewhere. The teams are all very supportive and helpful in helping you be the best version of yourself. With the support of the people at Spear and my Nando's team, I’ve massively grown both personally and professionally."
