“Niko is my pupper, my son, and my service animal. We’re together 24/7. Always at my side, he’s quick to ease my medical condition, listening to me chit-chat and giving me an introduction to everyone we meet. If I’m ever lost in my own head, Niko is quick to get my attention and bring me back. During my search, an opportunity at Uber came my way. At that time, most employees were still working remotely. Fast forward to Uber’s return to the office where we adopted a hybrid work model—half office time, half work from home. Given that we’d moved into a new Chicago office during the work-from-home period, the office hadn’t yet provided reasonable accommodation for someone with a service dog, and a few essential logistics needed to be worked out. I was able to continue working from home full-time while Guneet coordinated to ensure I was set up for success by bringing Niko onsite with me. A few months later, Niko continues to work by my side in the office. He loves joining me but is sad that he can’t get pet on the clock (which is mutually shared)." - Dina Spurr, Tracking Support Agent
