Families Together is a Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded program that offers flexible, family‑centred case management to help keep children safe and supported at home. Working alongside families, the program aims to reduce the need for out‑of‑home care by building on existing strengths and capabilities. The Program supports parents and carers to respond confidently to their children’s needs and create safe, nurturing home environments through parenting support, strengthened family functioning, promoting healthy child development, and providing practical assistance to ensure homes are safe and supportive places for children to grow.
About the Role:
Join our exciting new Families Together Program in an
Operations Support role in Waitara on a permanent
full-time basis,
5 days per week.
Reporting to the Specialist Lead, the role provides essential operational and administrative support to the Families Together program, ensuring effective service delivery in line with Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) requirements. The role supports frontline practitioners and program leadership with management of program administration, information systems, reporting, coordination and day-to-day operational tasks. The role supports frontline roles as required and plays a critical role in ensuring the program model operates smoothly and efficiently.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide high‑quality administrative support to allow effective day‑to‑day operations of the Families Together program.
- Prepare, manage, and maintain documentation, including intake records and referrals ensuring accurate client files in accordance with program guidelines.
- Assist Managers and Caseworkers with appointments, calendars, and activities, and assist with prioritising team workflows to support timely service delivery.
- Support the implementation of family case plans and goals through advocacy, facilitating access to services, and assisting families to navigate referral pathways.
- Complete and submit referral documentation and related forms to external agencies to ensure families are connected with appropriate supports.
- Work collaboratively with DCJ and relevant external service providers to support coordinated service responses and positive outcomes for children and families.
- Any other ad hoc duties as directed by Manager.
What You’ll Bring:
- Certificate or Diploma level qualifications in Administration, Community Services (or other related discipline).
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative or operations support role, preferably within human services or government‑funded programs.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands and meet deadlines within minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid experience using databases, information systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy, and information management requirements within a community services environment.
