Junior Product Developer (Food Innovation)

FieldFresh is passionate about creating innovative, high-quality food products that meet the evolving needs of consumers. We are looking for a creative and hands-on Junior Product Developer to help develop exciting new products from concept to launch.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for food, cooking, and innovation. The successful candidate will assist in developing new food products, refining recipes, conducting product trials, and ensuring products meet quality, cost, and customer requirements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the kitchen, experimenting with ingredients, and transforming ideas into commercially viable products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test new food product concepts and recipes.
- Conduct kitchen trials and product evaluations.
- Assist with product reformulation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Source and evaluate ingredients and packaging options.
- Ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Document recipes, processes, and product specifications.
- Work closely with suppliers, production teams, and management.
- Participate in product tastings and sensory evaluations.
- Research food trends and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Support product launches and commercialization activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualification in Food Technology, Consumer Science, Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ experience in food product development, food manufacturing, catering, bakery, restaurant operations, or a similar environment.
- Practical cooking and recipe development experience.
- Passion for food innovation and product creation.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Advantageous
- Experience in fresh produce, sauces, ready meals, snacks, or value-added food products.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
- Experience scaling recipes from kitchen trials to production.
- Understanding of ingredient functionality and costing.
