Position Summary:

This employee fills orders, receives bags in to the warehouse and operates a forklift. He or she will perform routine maintenance on forklifts before operating. He or she also performs other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read information from various documents.
• Locate and identify bags in the warehouse.
• Move bags from one container or pallet to another.
• Perform routine service on forklifts, including filling the propane tank, checking and adding engine oil, cleaning the radiator, and washing the forklift.
• Work independently much of the time, with limited supervision.
• Through behavior and communication, maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Work Environment:
• Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt).
• Work days of 9 hours or longer, along with some work on Saturdays. Overtime sometimes occurs with very short notice.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills. This includes the ability to understand written instructions, record transactions accurately, and perform basic calculations.
• Be able to regularly handle items weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally handle items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Be able to achieve forklift driver certification.
• Be willing to work overtime on very short notice.
• Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.
• Prior forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test, which goes back 3 months.
