My phone interview was with a human resources director. He asked me questions including "Why are you interested in this company?" and several behavioral questions, such as "What was the biggest risk that you have taken?" At the end, he asked "What level of compensation are you looking for?" After I said $100,000+, he said they pay their formulation scientists $80,000 and offer three weeks of vacation. I was not willing to come down that far in salary, so I didn't move onto the next step in the interview process.
