Just like our menu, our teams thrive on a rich mix of people. Last year, our Warrington Junction 9 team teamed up with the amazing local charity Petty Pool, who support young people with learning disabilities and difficulties. Thanks to that partnership, David and Mark joined the team…and they’ve been real game changers and proven themselves to be true local legends 🔥 As Alice, the Patrao (General Manager) of the Junction 9 restaurant put it: “They’re role models for the Nandoca team. I thought we’d be helping David and Mark — but actually, they’ve had an even bigger impact on us. We’ve grown because of them.” That’s the kind of team spirit we’re all about. Writers, photographers, stylists, mentees and more from their network enjoyed coming together for an evening packed with PERi-PERi and pub quizzing. BRICKs is an art, fashion, music and culture magazine and agency who represent a number of talent in the world of production and content creation.
Nando's Lisburn is now open 🥳 The stunning new restaurant has been designed in collaboration with our partners at Moreno Masey and champions our Southern African heritage through ceiling installations, geometric fabrics, hand-woven pendant lights and cork detailing. The restaurant has also partnered with local charity Atlas Women's Centre – a space for adult learning, personal growth, and community engagement. The Nando’s Lisburn team will be working with the centre on a number of projects to support their work in the local area. What a week National Apprenticeship Week was for us! From hosting our graduation ceremony for our amazing apprentices, to attending the Hospitality Apprenticeship Showcase in the House of Commons before finally announcing our apprenticeship is now expanding into Ireland. Maria, our Chief People Officer, told us: “It’s fantastic to announce our programme expansion into Republic of Ireland this National Apprenticeship Week, meaning that more team members across our restaurants and central support teams now have the opportunity to do an apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification, with Nando’s. Massive congratulations to our Apprenticeship Team for launching this programme. Today kicks off National Apprenticeship Week - a week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy. We heard from Maria, our Chief People Officer, around her thoughts on apprenticeships: “At Nando’s we’re passionate about our people and championing rewarding careers in the hospitality sector. Our apprenticeships are going from strength to strength. Last year we focussed on expanding our restaurant programmes to offer a full career pathway – from Team Member (Level 2) to Managing Director (Level 5) – and we launched our apprenticeships in Scotland to bring more opportunities to more Nandocas. “At Nando’s, it’s all about the people that make our chicken. We’re passionate about giving people a chance to learn, develop and build a career – it’s at the heart of what we do and something we all share responsibility for. We know that when we grow others, we grow ourselves and in turn we help to grow Nando’s. Cupid came early… Over the last few years our superfans have been promising they’ll “never stop asking”, and we finally answered their demands as our Creamy Salad Dressing is back for good to once again steal the hearts of the nation, so there’ll be a lot less broken hearts ahead of Valentine’s Day. Eliza from our Food Team told us more: “Since Creamy Salad Dressing's departure from our condiment unit, we’ve seen so many of our fans take to social media to request that we bring it back. A much-loved legendary classic, we’re thrilled it's now back to where it belongs!”
Last week we took over our Battersea Power Station restaurant for a live gaming event hosted by streamers Angry Ginge and Danny Aarons. 50 competition winners were invited to watch the stream and challenges live. Our Battersea restaurant team fuelled the streamers and audience with PERi-PERi all evening. Not their usual Tuesday evening shift! Eddie, the Patrao (General Manager) told us "The team had a great time, enjoying the vibe and seeing the gamers' challenges."
