Hats off to Jacob, who recently completed his Level 2 Apprenticeship! Jacob joined our restaurant team in Walkden after seeing an advert for our apprenticeship programme. He’d just finished at college, and told us “When I left college, I wanted to start working and gain some experience. The Nando’s apprenticeship programme was the perfect fit as I’m gaining a qualification too. “I really enjoyed it; the best part is meeting new people. I worked across all roles within the restaurant, both front of house and back of house, which gave me a real insight into how the business operates. I’m still working out what I want to do next, but I know this apprenticeship is going to give me great foundations for my career.” Find out more about our apprenticeships here >> https://nandos.careers/our-roles/early-careers
New year, new…restaurant. Welcome to Nando’s Farnham 😍 Seeing in 2025 with style, Matt, the Patrao (General Manager) is bringing the heat to our newest restaurant in Surrey 🔥 Matt started with Nando’s as a Supervisor in Aldershot in 2014, before leading the team in Woking, and now heading up over 40 new fired-up Farnham Nandocas. To celebrate our hatching in Farnham, the team hosted a Wings & Art evening for some of the amazing people from Creative Response, a Farnham based charity offering arts-based workshops for people experiencing mental health, learning and physical difficulties. They’ll also be working with Surrey Choices around disability inclusion and will have a supported internship program for young people with SEND. Over the festive season, our Central Support teams donate gifts and essential items for The Upper Room, a charity that helps socially disadvantaged people to improve their lives and conditions. With an incredible 200 hampers being collated and donated this year, Anna from our Property Team told us more about it: “Creating our yearly Christmas hampers for The Upper Room is always a humbling experience and makes us feel proud to be able to give back. This charity drive allows us give thanks and highlight the work charities like the Upper Room do that make a difference in so many people’s lives. What a privilege it is to work with such wonderful colleagues and contractors who all pull together and contribute toward making this day extra special.” You can find out more about The Upper Room here >> https://theupperroom.org.uk/
🎄 A tree that tells a story 🎄 “Every year, our Christmas trees in all of our restaurants are decorated with beautiful handmade Christmas ornaments and I’m reminded of something truly special. These aren’t just decorations; they’re symbols of resilience, creativity, and hope. Crafted by talented women in a rural South African community, each ornament represents not only a unique artistic touch but also the power of giving back. “Through this incredible foundation, these women are gaining skills, financial independence, and a brighter future. When I see these ornaments glimmering among the lights, I feel a deep sense of connection. It’s a reminder that the holiday season is about more than just gifts - it’s about supporting each other and celebrating the impact we can make together” - Catia from our Loja (internal merchandise shop) speaking about our Christmas decorations, which you can see on the tree at your local restaurant. The hottest haunt in Hampshire is here…welcome Nando’s Winchester 😍 We’ve brought the heat to Winchester High Street 🔥 A feast for the eyes as well as the mouth, the restaurant has stunning Southern African art lining the walls for our guests to have the finest PERi-PERi among, just in time for the festive season. Adrian, the Patrao (General Manager) of the restaurant started his Nando’s journey in 2003 as a clumsy Griller (his words, not ours). Before becoming a Patrao in 2009 and running several of our restaurants in London, he made the move south to open our Basingstoke St Michaels restaurant and now leads 60 fired-up Nandocas in Winchester. He told us: “We’re delighted to be opening the doors to our brand-new Winchester restaurant! This is a really exciting opening for us, and we can’t wait to be serving up Nando’s iconic PERi-PERi and vibes.” The restaurant team have partnered with Trinity Winchester, a charity that supports those and their families affected by homelessness. They’ll be providing surplus food to the charity, and you can find out more about the work they do here >> https://trinitywinchester.org.uk/
Earning while you’re learning, getting hands-on work experience and free PERi chicken on shift are just a few of the perks of our apprenticeship. Chloe from our Sheffield Meadowhall restaurant joined us last year, and told us about her experience on our level 2 apprenticeship and being a Nandoca: “My aunt and brother worked for Nando’s, they both suggested that I applied for a job here. I’m so glad I listened to them, everyone at Nando’s has been so welcoming and it’s such fun. You can tell the business looks after people, no matter their background or circumstance, I really appreciate that. “The best thing about doing an apprenticeship is that you can earn and learn – you get paid to do your coursework. Harry, my Patrao (General Manager) lets me use the office, put some music on, and gives me the time and space to concentrate. I want to be able to travel the world, buy a house and car one day, and I know that this apprenticeship will give me the skills I need to become a supervisor and Manager myself, one day soon!” Find out more about our apprenticeships here >> https://nandos.careers/our-roles/early-careers
In 2017, we joined the fight against malaria. We recently showed our appreciation for our incredible Nandocas, who have dedicated their time and effort to the cause by inviting them to our recognition and celebration event. We announced the lucky winners who entered our raffle with some amazing prizes up for grabs such as signed football and rugby tops, tech goodies, high street vouchers and a year’s supply of Coca-Cola 😮 a great way to share the love with our Nandocas, and show how our PERi-PERi makes a positive impact in our homeland. Our collective fundraising efforts this year will protect over 130,000 people from malaria in southern Africa. Together, we’re changing lives.
