We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our private family school. We currently have seven kids ranging from 15 months to five years old, and two full time employees (a Director and an Assistant). This role will focus on a Montessori approach for the two five year old's as they start Kindergarten. They will also play a role in helping the three year old's prepare for Kindergarten. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the academic and personal growth of our kids. This role requires effective classroom management skills, an understanding of childhood development, and the ability to implement engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs.

Because we are a private family school, we cannot accept any additional children, so employees wouldn’t be able to bring their children with them. The hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a respectful and productive environment for all students.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
• Foster a nurturing atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and physical development among students.
• Collaborate with parents, staff, and administration to create individualized educational plans for students as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
• Utilize Montessori methods or other innovative teaching strategies as appropriate for the age group being taught.
• Provide tutoring support for students needing additional assistance in specific subject areas.
• Must be willing to help out with the younger children when needed.

Experience

• Proven experience working with students in a classroom setting, preferably in private school or preschool environments.
• Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and childhood development principles.
• Must be licensed to teach Elementary in Tennessee.
